September 15 1935, Nazi Germany, the so-called Nuremberg Laws. The authorities would separate out the country’s Jews from other citizens and discriminate them.
When Sweden Democrat Kent Ekeroth now submitted a motion proposing that the Probation Service and other agencies to register the Swedish population by national background, he takes a giant step towards such laws.
The distinguishing comes first.
The difference in treatment is the next step.
This is not only to register those who are foreign-born or have foreign citizenship. Even the Swedish citizens born in Sweden but with at least one parent born abroad, must be recorded.
Ekeroth imagines namely that crime is culturally determined. All modern criminological research says well opposite, but such does not bite a man with the higher mission to provide SD ammo to argue that immigrants are criminals.
Ekeroth does in their exercise a tricky tournament. First, he explains that “ethnicity” and “race” is not the same as nationality, and that nationality should be less controversial to register. But then he settles for not having the nationality “Swedish”, defined as Swedish citizens. It is precisely the category he wants to break down, by finding a new term – original nationality – that he wants to keep accounting records.
I will not here go into the Recent events on the SD should be labeled. But they do not want is called fascists, they should avoid bill that inevitably reminiscent of the 30′s Jewish stars.
