Now turn to the storm against Sweden – Aftonbladet

The Fallen trees, slipping and snövarning – winter’s first storm has struck against Sweden.

– During the night it has blown up properly, says meteorologist Martin Hedberg.

The strong winds from the Atlantic came in over the western parts of Sweden during the early hours of Wednesday.

– The winds will cause problems, says Martin Hedberg, meteorologist at Klart.se.

The worst it will be on the west coast with gusts up to 21 meters per second and SMHI Class 1 warns of strong winds across much of western Sweden.

Trees were blown down across roads

At 5:30 pm there was a traffic accident on Koön in Kungälvs municipality when a car crashed into a tree that had fallen. Also, inter alia, Halland, Jönköping and Värmland stated trees lying across roadways. No injuries have been reported.

Meanwhile, it was reported power outages, inter alia, Västra Götaland and Värmland.

At midday decreases the strong winds slightly to the west and moving instead towards Baltic coast. On the east coast are expected locally gusts that can reach gale force.
– It will be really, really windy along Öland and Gotland and up against the northern coast, but the wind will subside during the late afternoon and evening, says Sofia Soderberg, a meteorologist at SMHI to TT.

In eastern Norway, including roofs blown off and the police in Sarpsborg, near the Swedish border to Värmland, warns the public to go outdoors because of flying objects, reports VG. Meanwhile, the closure of roads.



New approaching storm

But weather warnings in Sweden applies not only to strong winds.

Transport Administration warns of slipping from Dalarna and up and SMHI Class 1 warning of snowfall in Sjuhäradsbygden, Florida, Gota Alv valley and western parts of the Crown’s and California. Up to five inches of snow or sleet likely before the afternoon.

In southwestern Baltic Sea and Sound south of Helsingborg Class 2 warns SMHI for very low water. During the afternoon, it can reach 100 to 120 centimeters below the mean water level.

The winds will subside something tomorrow, but it will be only a short respite.

Another storm coming in over the country on Friday.

– There is more significantly, it will be difficult as well, says Martin Hedberg.

SVT meteorologist Åsa Rasmussen does not exclude that there may be a storm that may name, which occurs only at extreme wind speeds.

Last year was named the four storms in Sweden, two in the south and two in the north, according to Martin Hedberg.
