At least ten people have got smoke inhalation after a fire in Kista on Saturday night.
The fire started in the basement and smoke then spread to several apartments.
– We have evacuated people from the fifth and sixth floor with machine ladder, says Emil Skoglund at the emergency services.
Late Saturday night, a fire broke out in the basement of a apartment block in Kista.
– It was a fully developed fire, says Emil Skoglund, management operator in the Greater Stockholm Fire Brigade.
The smoke spread from the fire to the stairwell and into several apartments. The rescue services have helped at least a dozen to get out from their balconies.
On the higher floors used the firemen machine ladder to help the residents to get out.
A dozen people have been smoke damage.
– As it looks now, these are of minor injuries, Emil says Skoglund.
Later, declared the emergency a person had to seek hospital treatment.
The fire was extinguished relatively quickly, but the firemen were long remain at the site to vent the smoke damaged the building.
Police have launched a preliminary investigation of assault.
