Sweden should introduce minimum age of social media – Aftonbladet

Soon, it may be slutlajkat for anyone under 16 years.

As part of a new EU directive, Sweden will introduce the age of social media. It confirms the Consumer Minister Per Bolund for SVT.

In order to use Facebook, snapchat and Instagram applies as before an age limit of 13 years, which is regulated in the user agreement.

But soon, Sweden to introduce a statutory age limit. It is part of the new EU data protection directive, and may be in 16 years.

– The regulation that have been taken at EU level, says it will be 16-year limit with the opportunity to go down to 13-year age limit. There is a binding regulation as somewhere where will the Swedish regulations to end, said Consumer Minister Per Bolund to SVT.

The government will now appoint a commission to determine where the age limit should be on.

The EU Data Protection Directive must be transposed into Swedish law within two years.
