The phenomenon occurs when sunlight breaks and reflected in the ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere. The ice crystals act as prisms.
The days have been great location for a halo, says Sofia Söderberg, meteorologist at SMHI.
– The clear cold weather, moisture that forms ice crystals have been beneficial, she says.
However, it is doubtful whether it continues to be there, with a little milder and cloudier weather on the way.
Halo is Greek for circle or halo.
