The Conservatives are the largest party and the Social Democrats note their worst support ever.

It shows Sifo’s January survey published in Svenska Dagbladet.

receive 23, 2 percent – the lowest figure since records began in 1967.

With its 23.2 percent slopes S of 2.8 percentage points since the poll in December. The decline is statistically significant, according to SvD / Sifo.

– Now we’re not talking even about Juholt-digits long, that we can forget. But the trend is not new, the S has had structural problems long, says Toivo Sjörén, who is head of Sifo voter surveys, to SvD.

The measurement is S worst figure in Sifo since 1967.

“We have had a challenging year behind us and this is an opinion piece figure that I really was not happy with, and that reflects the fact that Sweden faces several challenges that we must deal with.” writes Jämtin, party secretary of the Social Democrats, in a comment.

Conservatives largest party

The Moderates get 25.6 percent, up 3.5 percentage points, and is thus the largest party in the survey.

Total The Alliance is now 5.6 percentage points higher than the red-green. S + V + MP collects 37.2 per cent and M + C + L + KD 42.8.

SD gets 18.2 percent – a decrease by 0.8 percentage points since December.

The Moderates’ party secretary Tomas Tobé comments on the figures:

– It is gratifying numbers. I think many feel that Sweden is heading in the wrong direction .

How do you explain that the Conservatives are now the largest party?

– We have seen that confidence in Anna Kinberg Batra has increased recently while has declined to Stefan Löfven. We have also presented proposals on points of order in the Swedish economy and a temporary refugee break.

refugee crisis a cause

Political scientist Magnus Hagevi at Linnaeus University in Växjö, sees two reasons for crayfish time S and Stefan Löfven.

First, usually incumbent governments lose at the beginning of a term.

The second explanation is the refugee crisis, according Hagevi:

– You then have had access to solutions one before the election campaign has not flagged, it may be perceived as a policy of the government without having planned for it. That voters perceive that it does not give confidence in the government’s ability to govern the country.
