Man shot in Markbacken – Swedish Radio

A large police operation underway Markbacken estate in Örebro after a man has been shot injured.

– Just after 16 o’clock we get information that there was gunfire in Markbacken and that a person is injured. There is one man and we get information that in the case of serious injuries, said police spokesman in Bergslagen, Tommy Lindh.

The man is taken to the University Hospital in Örebro and according to the hospital’s press service the man has life-threatening injuries. There are police guard at the hospital where the man cared.

Police have launched a preliminary investigation of attempted murder.

The Early information to the police about a man seen running in the area.

– It was early information we received, but we are seeking unconditional. We have no suspects at present, says Tommy Lindh.

The day started trial against seven people suspected of involvement in the shooting of Vivalla in Orebro last summer when one person was killed and two shots were injured . Police would not say whether there is any connection to the shooting.

– It’s part of our working hypothesis. This trial has been surrounded by police and there have been analyzed show threats around there. Of course there are in our work, but there is nothing we can confirm or deny.

The event is classified as a special event which means a large police operation in the field, with an outer Management and the internal management support in the team.
