Around 500,000 migrants are ordered every year to leave the EU because they do not have grounds for asylum, their visas have expired or anything else that they do not have the right to stay. But not even half the decisions are implemented.
Hot question
At the EU meeting after the EU meeting in the autumn, it has been drummed into their receiving rejection of their asylum applications must return to their home countries. Preferably voluntarily, or else by force.
As late as Monday discussed Interior Minister Anders Ygeman (S) jointly organized återvändarresor with his German colleague when the two met in Amsterdam.
There are proposals to Biffa up the EU’s border control agency, Frontex, both with resources and powers. Even today organizes Frontex joint charter that member states can use. Shared flights will be more efficient and cheaper, and the countries are encouraged to use it more. Today, arranges Member State usually transport yourself when someone should be deported.
Shared Memo
Sweden have made use of the FRONTEX charter five times between September and December, statistics from Frontex. 40 people were transported then to Kosovo, Nigeria, Albania and Georgia.
For instance, Sweden September 29 primary responsibility to send back 49 people to Albania. Most, 26 people had applied for asylum in Germany and the plane that started in Gothenburg therefore made a stop in Munich on the way to Tirana. While five individuals who are not allowed to stay in France were on the flight along with 73 policemen and officers who escorted the deportees persons.
The whole bill of 64 300 euros, equivalent to around 620 000 SEK, was Frontex.
The reasons for that not even half of expulsion orders executed in the European Union are the same as stated in Sweden: people depart and the authorities do not know where they are, there is no proper travel documents or their countries of origin would not receive them, for example, that the identity has not been possible to establish.
