It was the first time Jehovah’s Witnesses arranged for a large convention for the whole of Scandinavia. The participants came from Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, and the program was held simultaneously in seven languages, three of which were different sign languages. From Norrköping different churches, there were about 450 members of the Friends Arena for the gathering “Imitate Jesus!”.
Stephen Lett, a member of the corporation management, had traveled from New York (where the movement has its international headquarters) to keep in teaching seminar.
– Children and adults need to have role models. We believe that Jesus is a good role model and that you can have great use of bible teaching in different relationships and raising children, says press officer Alf Blomqvist were pleased with the successful logistics.
Among other things, had 36,000 hotel beds about 200 hotels booked and 346 buses transported the visitors to and from the arena.
– Everything has worked perfectly, says Blomqvist.
According to Dagens Industri, the event has broken records. With a total of 150 000 visitors in three days fought the record for how much the audience who have visited the three-day event at the Friends Arena, the paper said. The previous record was the Swedish House Mafia, as their three gigs in 2012 drew 133,000 people to the arena in Solna.
