Bus drivers in protest – are forced to wear black stockings – Aftonbladet

Many of Keolis bus drivers were sent home after a strumpprotest during Friday morning.

The bus company has introduced a new uniform, which means that drivers are forced to wear black stockings – even in sandals.

– It feels degrading, says the bus driver Sven.

The bus company Keolis introduced new uniforms for its bus drivers on 1 July. Immediately fell in five drivers sent home with payroll deductions for violating strumpregeln.

– It is humiliating that we should not decide for himself what to wear on your feet, says Sven.

were sent home

In the morning, he went along with some twenty other drivers in strumpprotest. They gathered at the depot in Hägersten, south of Stockholm – without socks on his feet.

No one got run – a total of 13 were sent home.

– It has gone too far. Nobody sees our feet on the accelerator. It is also unhygienic to wear socks in sandals this heat.

Sven – like the other drivers who went out in protest – agrees otherwise completely behind the uniforms.

– There is a security for travelers to know that it goes with Keolis.

“Up the walls”

A trade union representative has joined the protests.

– I think it is up the walls. The union is not behind this, but I joined in sympathy.

He believes that it is a breach of contract to Keolis has not been negotiated with the Municipal Workers’ Union at local level on the new uniform. He has requested a discussion, an informal negotiation with the employer.

He hopes they win the fight for a “strumpfri” uniform.

– This is an indication that management must start listening to their drivers.

Aftonbladet has been in contact with, Keolis, which states that you should come back with a comment.
