Car caught fire after head-on collision – Swedish Radio

Two cars collided head-on road 364 at Ersmark north of Umeå late Friday night. A woman died in the accident.

The alarm about the accident came at 2320 on Friday evening. Two cars had frontal collision and one of the cars caught fire.

– It had started a fire under the hood, and witnesses went back and took out an unconscious person out of the car, says Åke Strandgren, team leader at Umeå Fire Prevention and Safety, to P4 Västerbotten.

The fire was extinguished and the driver, a man of 35 years old, was taken to hospital.

In the second car was a woman in 30s clamped and emergency services got cut up the car.

Police said first that woman was seriously injured, but the writing just before 0100 on its website that the woman had died and that her relatives has been notified.

Both cars have been seized for forensic examination.
