Several hundred million computer users vulnerable to the bug “Freak”.
This bug allows nätbusar to spy on connections that most people think are protected and secure.
“Microsoft will take the appropriate steps to protect their customers,” writes IT giant in a press release.
This bug is called “Freak” and have been discovered in the software used to encrypt data sent between Internet servers and users.
Previously it was thought that the bug only affected Android phones and Safari browser, but now warns therefore Microsoft to additional hundreds of millions of computer users may be affected. There are computers running the Windows operating system and Internet Explorer Web browser installed that are vulnerable.
Computers and mobile phones with “Freak” error can be attacked when they join the American web servers where encryption technology intentionally weakened. The United States has banned the strongest type of encryption.
Groups provides infectious Test
A group which looks at how widespread the bug is says that about 9.5 percent of the internet’s one million most visited Domains can be infringed by “Freak”. On the page, users can also see if their browser is vulnerable, writes the BBC.
IT giants Microsoft and Apple are working on updates that will incapacitate “Freak”. Google has already updated its Chrome browser for Mac users, but they have not yet said when they will update the operating system of Android phones.
Microsoft writes in its press release that nothing in the current situation indicates that someone used the error .
