Have you seen someone with mismatched socks today? It is the campaign Rocka sock which urges people to replace a sock to show that different is good.
When P4 West went out in Uddevalla, there were many different socks on your feet.
– I have different socks for me and my two children also have it today. I think it’s really important just to show their homage to everyone’s differences and value, says Matilda Kirpensteijn.
Even Marianne Andersson has different socks on them.
– It is important for to show that we are different, yet equally and we fit well anyway, she says.
It is to show that it’s okay to be different as people today are asked to wear different colored socks. The idea comes from the ten-year Nathea Anemyr, who wants to pay tribute to her big sister Noelle and all others with Down syndrome.
– This thing with the socks are so easily accessible to all. It is easy to put on mismatched socks and it becomes a gesture to support those who are different, says Linda Adielsson in Ljungskile as 2011, daughter Agnes, who was born with Down syndrome.
Social media today has been filled of both humans and animals with colorful socks. A total of over 260 000 said they want to be with. Linda Adielsson’m glad that people with Down syndrome attention.
– It heats so much that we get the acceptance, respect and love from the environment. It is absolutely amazing. It will focus on the joy and that different is good and that diversity enriches us.
