Glasses are free for Swedish children – Hufvudstadsbladet

All Swedish children aged between 8 and 19 years old with low vision will get free glasses. It proposes the Swedish government in the next budget, reports SVT.

The announcement comes after a deal between the Left and the government, and the new rules will apply from As of January.

– We think that means is a right and glasses is a tool, says Left Party economic policy spokesperson Ulla Andersson, to SVT.

The government estimates that glasses grant, directed to upwards of 150,000 children, will cost SEK 120 million (nearly 13 million) per year.
