The Government has previously by Housing Minister Mehmet Kaplan, announced that it is interested in “support and incentives” to increase housing construction. Now, as also the announcement from the government that they want to subsidize the construction of rental apartments and student flats with stimulus of 3.2 billion.

The action shall, inter alia financed through the lowering of the tax deduction for from 50 to 30 percent .

– Addressing the housing crisis is a key part of the government’s jobs strategy, which is the core of government policy, says Prime Minister Stefan Löfven (S) at the press conference in Stockholm Royal Seaport in Stockholm.

He continues:

– This is a freedom issue. Therefore, we will ensure that there are more homes. We need to speed up construction.

The proposal must be included in the Budget for 2016.

Support for new construction start already from today and should be adjusted based on cost situation in different regions. The support will, according to the Government, to be particularly high for residential areas up to 35 square meters and have requirements about energy efficiency, affordable rentals and apartments are allocated in a transparent manner.

– There should be more people with ordinary income and it will be built in a climate-smart way. It helps us with this support, says Climate and Environment Minister Åsa Romson (MP) in a statement.

With the suggested Financial Government estimates that the support should be given to about 15 000 apartments per year. These apartments are covered by an hyrestak, but how long it will apply do not want the government to provide. The roof will vary depending on location.

In the Facility, located as part of the government’s bostadspaket.avsätts another 3.5 billion in support to local governments for increased housing and streamlined management, energy efficiency of the Million Programme, urban environment agreements and support for the construction of housing for the elderly.

According to the Government, however, required more action in the long term, and they are also on the way, says spokesperson Gustav Fridolin (MP). Among other things, proposals for rule changes for the planning process and the promised changes of noise protection rules be reviewed by bostadsminsiter Mehmet Kaplan “in the near future.”

In the autumn budget will more suggestions, promising Stefan Löfven.

With the news that root deduction will deteriorate, the government exactly what it promised before the election not to do. But Prime Minister Stefan Löfven defending the decision.

– Last year alone, the costs for root with 2 billion. It is a good reform for people who build on, but we can not bet how much money any time on it. Therefore, we go down in the subsidy rate, says Stefan Löfven and continues:

– We must be able to say to companies that there are homes so that they can recruit.

Centre Party’s economic-political spokesperson Emil Kallstrom think that the government announced investment in housing subsidies are completely wrong way to go .

– The government is proposing is a hassle package that will make construction more expensive. We know that building subsidies end up in construction companies pockets in the form of increasing profits, says Emil Kallstrom and continues:

– When I say hassles package, it is not only the subsidies, there are new requirements on construction also, municipal agency coercion . It is further rent regulations that we already in the current situation has been for much of the housing market. This will only aggravate the situation.

His counterproposal is to make “it easier to build, working with regulatory reform and faster planning processes.”

Building Chairman Johan Lindholm believes that the government show political courage in the slips.

– You try to get the reels after years of deprivation. It involves an allocation of tax money that we all are with and contribute to, says Johan Lindholm to SvD Business.

After the announcement of the sharp reduction in the tax deduction for warned both opositionen and construction industry to white jobs will become black. But Johan Lindholm is not worried about it.

– Rot is still there and can be used. But one must evaluate it continuously, about the future says it goes in the wrong direction you have to take other initiatives.
