Alpine rescuer looking for missing skier – Västerbotten Courier

Police and mountain rescue from Sweden and Norway are searching for a man who disappeared while skiing in Jämtlandsfjällen yesterday afternoon.

The search has been hampered by heavy blown up to 30 meters per second, which resulted in poor visibility along the ski trail.

– We still have no success with the search, but continues naturally during the day, says Oscar Berglund, duty officer at Jämtland police.

The man, who is in her 70s, is supposed to have good mountain habit.

It was an acquaintance of the missing skier who raised the alarm when he did not show up on Blåhammarens mountain station, where the two arranged to meet.
