A woman in her 30s died after a head-on collision between two cars on Friday evening, in Ersmark in Umeå.
In the oncoming car was crushed a man stuck.
– I put down the front seat and managed to get him out through the back seat, says Jens Gustafson, 29, who came to the scene shortly after the crash.
at 2320 came the alarm about the accident in. Two cars had then collided head-on road 364 just outside of Umeå.
In one car was crushed a woman stuck. The rescue was forced to cut up the car to get the woman, but her life could not be saved.
A man in 35 years was clamped in the other car that crashed.
– The car’s engine compartment caught fire and some have then tried to extinguish the fire with snow, says says Simon Wormö, duty officer at the police in Västerbotten.

Jens Gustafsson from Umeå would bussing a friend with his car and came to the scene a few minutes after the two cars collided.
– We and a few others see how the man riding into the air bag and half-conscious. Other begin to try to get him out and I go and look at the woman and sees that she is probably dead. Then shout the others to fire starts in the man’s car.
Several people trying to get out the man through the door on the driver side but without success.

“Talked all the time”
He says that the road was not very content at the scene of the accident, but it was very slippery basically the whole Umeå during the evening. He now hopes that the man can do.
– It was lucky that I remember this from the training, we have to hope that someone else can do the same thing if I were to encounter something similar, says Jens Gustafson .
The man was taken to hospital for treatment. He was conscious.
– He replied when we asked things and we talked to him all the time until the ambulance arrived and took over, says Jens Gustafson.
On the road 324 traffic was closed in both directions during the rescue work.
The police have taken both cars seized for forensic examination. It was on Friday evening not known what caused the accident.
