The social worker Lars Persson, 53, took his life after he experienced bullied at her workplace in Krokom of his new boss.

They were convicted in the District Court in Östersund in February 2014 for occupational crime by involuntary manslaughter against the social worker Lars Persson. The judgment was suspended and fined 50 000 and 23 000.
The Court of Appeal has concluded that there was no question of negligence of the kind from managers that it is punishable as manslaughter or involuntary disease . The two heads can therefore not be held accountable for safety and health violations and charges against them should be dismissed.
The Court of Appeal has concluded that there were flaws in both the managers’ management of Lars Persson’s situation.
Negligence is not punishable
They have failed when it comes to adapting Lars Persson’s working, relocation opportunities, and to investigate the need for rehabilitation. The Court of Appeal considers, however, that in practice it was difficult to achieve satisfactory solutions in the workplace for Lars Persson.
This negligence is not considered so reprehensible that it is a punishable offense.
One of the managers signed a notice of dismissal of Lars Persson, but that there were reasons for this.
The court of appeal is not unanimous in its judgment, a member wants to judge managers.
The widow Maria Persson is deeply disappointed at the Court of Appeal judgment .
– I become disillusioned. Now it is freely forward to start treating people anyway in the workplace. This responsible for the work environment and the psychosocial situation does nothing after this, she says.
However, she is pleased that it went so far as to prosecution and conviction in the District Court.
– it is still a vindication for us and for Lars. It has come up on the table and talk about it. Perhaps it had not been made otherwise. But it feels horrible for all those who had had a little hope.
She is also pleased that Lars Persson’s suicide classified as an occupational injury of Social Insurance.
The bullying started with the new head
The social worker Lars Persson was deeply involved in his work with addicts in the individual and family care in Krokom.
It was on 10 June 2010 as Maria Persson found her husband dead in the home. Lars Persson had taken his life, 53 years old. He also left three children.
The reason was, according to Maria Persson workplace bullying, which started when Lars Persson got a new female boss. The new boss criticized all the time, Lars, hacked at him and looked wrong. Lars began to feel ill and tried to talk to the parent governors, but felt that no one was listening. Lars asked to be reassigned, without a hearing.
He became more and more unsure of himself. He broke down, both in their work and as a person. The widow Maria Persson says it all about rejection.
Received notice of dismissal
Lars had an acute crisis reaction and became deeply depressed. The doctor of occupational health diagnosed his condition as errand. In May 2010, Lars Persson at a meeting with heads of news that he would be fired.
Three weeks later, he took his life.
In September 2010, police reported Maria Persson five managers in Krokom . Prosecutor Ase Schoultz at the National Department of Environment and working environment in Östersund brought charges for occupational crime by involuntary manslaughter against two of the managers.
The prosecution was unique, as well as judgment. But now it has therefore been torn up by the Court of Appeal.
