Couples prosecuted for animal cruelty – Västerbotten Courier

Värmland their farm prosecuted for cruelty to animals of 180 cows and bulls. Some were in such poor condition during an inspection at the couple’s farm in 2013 that they were killed on the spot, writes Värmland Folkblad.

Many of the animals were dirty and malnourished. Furthermore, several of the cattle lost parts of the coat, probably due to parasite infestation.

– As it sits feces in the fur becomes corrosive and it gets sore. The animals must have suffered, says prosecutor Linda Karlsson.

In the indictment can be read that the couple “intentionally or through gross diligence through neglect unduly exposed the animals to suffer.” The pair deny the charges.
