Finnish Immigration Service: We have not cheated refugees outside Östersund – Swedish Radio

The more than 30 asylum seekers have been for over a day protested against being moved from Malmö to Hinge boss asylum accommodation outside Östersund. The Swedish Migration Board has been tricked, believes the group. We have not really done, responds Migration Board.

– They have been informed that the bus going to Ostersund, that is what I have been given to me, says Per-Erik Bjurholt, area manager at the Swedish Migration Board in the area north.

Those between 30 and 40 seekers protesting because they feel they tricked to go from Malmö region to an asylum accommodation outside Östersund.

They should also have received the necessary information that they would be bussed over one hundred mil north to Östersund. But the Swedish Migration Board will still follow up exactly what information was given and whether it was some misunderstanding.

That was yesterday morning as the bus rolled into the asylum accommodation stew outside Östersund. Asylum seekers have recently come to southern Sweden, mainly from Syria and Iraq.

This is the largest asylum accommodation in Jämtland and has been there for a few years. There is no mil outside Östersund in a wooded area.

When the bus arrived moved some in, but a large part of the passengers refused to leave the bus and the night went slept between 30 and 40 of the judgment in the bus. The group says they do not want to live this far north and this isolation.

– It is isolated from the city. It is isolated from the service. We’re getting a better place than this, says one of the protesternade as P4 Jämtland hits off the pot.

What would be a better place?

– Malmö, Stockholm or any other city where it’s not as cold as this. Here there are bears, wolves and other animals. We can not stay here, says another.

But I live here?

– Yes, but we are Arabs. We can not stay where it is things like this weather, answer he said.

The bus company has said they will wait a while to retrieve his bus. Today, staff from the Swedish Migration Board visited the asylum seekers in the bus.

Asylum seekers get food on asylum accommodation and can go in and get warm. A few more have chosen to move into the asylum accommodation during the afternoon, but some of the asylum seekers say they will stay in the bus to get to go back to Malmo or Stockholm.

But according to the Swedish Migration Board is places on Hinge boss asylum accommodation only thing that can be offered. It’s already too full to all asylum accommodation south.

– We are incredibly repressed in access to housing. There is a huge need, so we must use every bed we have in the country, says Per-Erik Bjurholt at the Board.
