The Scotsman Knutby received great attention. One day in January 2004, found Helge Fossmo wife Alexandra Fossmo dead in his bed. Shot to death. The couple’s neighbor, Daniel Linde had been shot in the face.

unravels decision

But the mastermind behind the attacks was Helge Fossmo.

He was pastor of the Philadelphia Church Knutby and sentenced to life imprisonment for inciting the two crimes.

Fossmo applied last year to get the punishment timed and in October announced Örebro District Court to sentence would be converted to 24 years in prison. It would mean that Fossmo would be released early in 2020.

But the prosecutor appealed to the Göta Court of Appeal because he wanted the request should be refused.

Fossmo their part, wanted the court of appeals to determine a even shorter prison sentence than what the district court did.

Today came the new decision.

“premature”

A unanimous Court of Appeal unravels the district court’s decision, and Fossmo hence may not punished timed.

The Court of Appeal considers that the penalty for the offense Fossmo convicted “in any event not less than” 24 years in prison as the district court decided the sentence to.

The decision writes that the acts were preceded by Fossmo purposefully influenced Sara Svensson, by “careful planning, great cunning and exceptional recklessness causing great suffering.”

In addition, mean right, is Forensic Medicine assessment of the risk that Fossmo relapse in the criminal uncertain.

“Overall there any special circumstances relating inter alia to Helge Fossmo personality that makes the risk of relapse into serious crime may change during the very long time that remains until a parole can be current, “writes law in the decision.
