The Left gets criticism of the government – Swedish Radio

The Left is in the current state is not ready to support the Government’s proposals for a third so-called daddy month. Thus, the proposal may be stopped in parliament. Minister for Social Annika Strandhäll (S) says she will hold talks with the Left, but she is critical of the party’s actions.

– I think that their position is a little strange here. We’ve been very clear from the Government, and this is a proposal that goes in that direction, says Annika Strandhäll.

It is uncertain if it gets any third daddy month from the January 1, 2016, as the red-green government wants.

The Liberal Party has indeed decided to vote in favor of the proposal, but the Moderate Party, the Centre Party, the Christian Democrats and the Sweden Democrats are against more earmarked months.

and now the Left Party group leader Hans Linde told that the government in the current situation can not count on the support of his party either.

Left Party advocates a legislation that parents should share the entire parental insurance equal and To negotiate the content of the forthcoming legislative proposal.

– We will first and foremost to go forward with our own policy, unless the government is willing to negotiate with us. And then we will move forward with proposals for an individualisation of parental insurance. Said Hans Linde and continues:

– Would the government get broader support in parliament for its proposals and propositions, then one must also reasonably contact other party and be prepared to negotiate, says Hans Linde.

The government has just sent the proposal to introduce an additional paternity month for consultation, says Minister for Social Annika Strandhäll. The Left will of course get their thoughts on the matter, she said.

– We are of course interested in listening to them, but also to listen to others who come with wise recorder that makes it ultimately becomes as well as possible.

To what extent is it possible compromises?

– Well, compromises. I think that we must have before us now is that it’s the first time in twelve years in politics go forward with a proposal for further folded months of parental insurance. It ought to both the Left, we and others concerned, as the Liberal Party who are also interested in this, see as a win that, we now have a chance to take that step.
