A man suspected of human trafficking has been released by police.
Initially it was thought that he forced a twelve year-old to Sweden to beg – but now it has been shown that the beggar is 33 years old, writes Jönköping Posten.
It was in early December as a social service in Jönköping took charge of a person who sat begging outside a Co-op store.
According to police where the person was frozen, had bad clothes and was believed to be in the age of twelve.
– He was not as talkative as he spoke to social services. But it was clear in any case that his parents are not in Sweden. The first thing we need to do now is to try to find out the guy’s identity. Then we investigate how he got here and so on. It is not easy, said Lasse Johansson, press officer at the police in Jönköping, GT.
Born in 1982
Now reports Jönköping-Posten that guy for closer surveys proved to be 33 years old. The man has among other things been examined by dentists and according to the Bulgarian authorities are identity documents showing that he was born 1982nd
– All evidence indicates that it is not about a child without an adult, said chamber prosecutor Anders Brokelind to the newspaper.
Social Service Responsibility
A 41-year-old man was arrested early on suspicion of human trafficking, but as it now is about an adult person has suspicions against man closed.
The 33-year-old will suffer from a syndrome that makes him look unusually young.
– Although it would be about someone who mentally not an adult terms it will be able to prove that the suspect realized it, says Brokelind.
According to Jönköping-Posten is the cared for 33-year-old still under the social services responsibilities.
– It is clear that we might receive think differently about it now has come another age determination. But I can not say at present how we will go ahead, says Lillian Elmqvist, Area Director for Children and Young Persons to JP.
