Beware of slipping if you’re driving on the roads during the morning hours – especially in parts of Västra Götaland and Värmland, where SMHI has issued a Class 1 warning. But even motorists in southern Sweden are advised to be extra vigilant today.
– There is a risk that the rain falls on cold road surfaces, then it can be very, very slippery, says meteorologist Sandra Andersson at SMHI.
In northern Sweden expected a couple of inches of snow fall during the day.
– Where relates mainly about snöhalka, but it can also be a bit Freezing rain and locally there may be ice there too.
Do not be fooled by that you can not clearly see the slippery road conditions.
– It may well be a film of ice that no one sees. Take it easy and be aware that it can be quite treacherous on the roads, says Sandra Andersson.
