SMHI warns of storm in parts of southern Sweden – Aftonbladet

SMHI has issued a class 2 warning mainly southwestern part of Sweden and Öland and Gotland.

They warn of severe dust storms mostly in the North West Götaland.

Class 2 warning about the storm Svea is now extended to also apply to Östergötland.

In Västra Götaland expected winds with gusts up to 27 meters per second Friday. In the rest of southern Sweden is a Class 1 warning issued. The warnings apply to Friday.

– The wind will increase late tonight and early tomorrow morning is a risk of dust storms in over Bohuslän and the Gothenburg area to begin with. Since increasing the wind even further inland, in other areas as Halland primarily and in much of California, it is also a risk of dust storms tomorrow, says Sofia Soderberg, a meteorologist at SMHI.

“Solidly windy”

– There is also a Class 1 warnings for the entire Götaland, where there will also be really windy, says Sofia Soderberg.

On the island of Öland and Gotland, it is thus also Class 2 warnings issued , as of Friday afternoon.

There are only a few weeks since the storm Alexander pulled over virtually the same area.

– I think people are a little better equipped now and with this becomes a storm number two, says Martin Hedberg, meteorologist at klart.se.
