Today at ten o’clock, the Supreme Administrative Court’s decision in the infected wolf hunting issue.

But only four wolves are left to shoot.

No matter what the court finds have already 40 of the 44 wolves that would be pushed convicted. So where in all cases state before the hunt started again this morning.

This year’s hunting license, which is based on a political decision wolf population, were being stopped by purely legal reasons. The legal spörsmålet about the possible right to court to appeal against a decision of the authorities on the hunt. It stems turn around a modification of hunting regulation for a time then made with the government’s good memory. It says now that the issue of a license to hunt wolves taken by the provincial government in each county. CAB’s decision can be appealed to the Environmental Protection Agency, but then it stops. Previously there had been appealed to the Administrative Court.



First stop …

The Environmental Protection Agency yes to hunt appealed including the compound Nordulv who requested an immediate stop (inhibition) of the hunt until the substantive issue, the right to appeal to the court, settled. First instance administrative court in Karlstad, gave the complainant the right with reference to the end of this matter is uncertain and that the appeal ban may conflict with EU law.



… and then the green light

Next instance of Appeal in Gothenburg, made completely opposite assessment and quashed the administrative court’s decision with a slap on the wrist:

“The Administrative Court ought to have dismissed the appeal on the ground that the Environmental Protection Agency’s decisions are not appealable,” wrote Appeal.
