Three wolves shot in Dalarna – Västerbotten Courier

After a day of hunting in Dalarna had three wolves shot – all bitches.

A wolf had scabies and will possibly be deducted from the quota – which makes four or five wolves get shot in the county.

– We have not decided on it yet, but possibly it will be counted, says Fredrik Dalerum, predators officers at the provincial government.

Vargjakten kicked off in Dalarna on Saturday. The first wolf was shot in Song The territory, the other (scabies infested) in Olsjöreviret and the third was also shot in Singing the territory.

County Board decided in early December for a license hunting of eight wolves. The decision was appealed and the Environmental Protection Agency overturned the then provincial government has not shown that all criteria for license hunting were met.

In mid-January, the provincial government a new decision to license hunt that involved two territories and seven wolves. Although this decision was appealed. But the claims for injunctive relief was dismissed and the hunt, which may last until 15 February, started as planned.

Even in Värmland and Örebro going hunting license. In Örebro County is 11 of 12 wolves shot. Last Wednesday was shot a wolf that is not counted, because although it had scabies.

In Värmland shot another wolf on Saturday. There are now a total of 17 of the 24 animals shot according to the provincial government.
