Ikea recalls bulb – risk of electric shock – Göteborgs-Posten

Furniture giant IKEA encourages customers to stop using one of the lights from their range.

– Even though the lamp works, we encourage all customers who have a Gothem lamp to immediately stop using it, says Marie Harder, Sales Manager Lighting at IKEA Sweden, in a press release.

It was during Wednesday Ikea went out with the call in a statement on its website. There, the company writes that it withdraws all Gothem floor and table lamps due to damaged cables. The error means that there is a risk of electric shock as the lamp’s metal parts may become conductive.

– Even though the lamp works, we encourage all customers who have a Gothem lamp to immediately stop using it and return it to IKEA for a full refund. Safety is our highest priority at IKEA and we want our customers to feel secure in using our products, says Marie Harder, Sales Manager Lighting at IKEA Sweden, in a press release.

Ikea announces that it does not currently know of any shrill spirit if anyone has come to damaged because of the error, but at least three people have received electric shock.

Now takes no risks and urges all customers to return their Gothem lights to an IKEA store for a refund.

– We want to ensure that no further incidents occur and create awareness of risks therefore withdraws all three models of Gothem lights – two table lamps and a floor lamp, said Marie Härder.
