Escaped prison bulls back home – Västerbotten Courier

No poaching – but the bull hunt – continued today in Västerbotten. 24 adult bulls escaped from Sörbyns correctional located between Umeå and Örnsköldsvik.

The Bulls got out of prison sometime during the night, and the search for them lasted for many hours. At noon found a dozen animals that have passed across the ice to an island and a few hours later, all animals repatriated to the institution.

– They had walked away and was on a small island out at the coast. All were together and now they have everybody come back, says Nicklas Sahlström, prison officers at Sorby Institution, said.

While the police were during the day involved in the search for the fugitives.

– We follow this with some interest. But I am less concerned about whether it is the bulls on the run than if it would have been 24 inmates at the prison, said Dan Andersson, duty officer at the Västerbotten police.
