News Nearly 70 percent like the proposal for tighter rules.
A new survey by polling institute Novus by Swedish Television News shows that there is greater support for the Government’s proposal to tighten refugee policy. Nearly 70 percent think it is fine with tougher rules.
More than 1000 people have participated and answered questions about what they think of the government’s proposals will go before Parliament. The parliament has been criticism by the main Left Party, the Centre Party and the Green Party.
The stricter rules, including the temporary residence of up to three years should be the rule rather than permanent residence permits. Opportunities for family immigration is limited and supply requirements tightened. The law will apply for three years.
69 percent in the survey think that it is a fairly or very good idea. 22 percent think it is somewhat or very bad. Men are more positive than women and older more than younger ones. Sweden’s Democratic voters are most supportive of the proposal and bourgeois more positive than the red-green voters.
