A four-meter-long section of a fuel element is broken at Ringhals. According to the plant’s press officer Krister Svahn was it a planned inspection of the previously damaged part that was in a separate building.
– It lifted element in the work with it as it was divided, and some went back in mounting the second remains in the tool used to lift it.
the work at Ringhals was stopped when the part went off at on Wednesday night. The incident has not led to increased activity and the relevant authorities are informed says Svahn.
– The element standing there waiting to be brought to a repository. It is too early to say how it can be taken care of in the best way.
