The situation is worst in Malmo, and around 40 percent of all cases in the passport office in Lund today come from the neighboring town. Previous cuts to the police budget has meant that police officers had to jump into the passport offices, but recently there have been needed elsewhere.
Waiting times may however be shortened, but only about four to six months, then new staff will be in place, the paper said.
