Now, the Swedish Migration Board to implement changes to improve the handling.

– the most important thing is that we need to give our people better administration support. We see that we are handling it in different ways, we need to be clearer and provide security for our employees on how they should act, says Cecilia Borin, head of the quality department at the plant, said.

Office has an investigation found 132 children, including 129 girls, in the reception system at enrollment indicated that they are married. The report finds that the legal instruments available to hear them is not always followed, to orosanmälningar for children who come without a guardian is not always made to social services and not reported to the police. Furthermore, the absence of a specific standard for the management of these children, as well as support for administrators about how to act.

Be clear

Child marriage is prohibited under Swedish law. It has previously attracted criticism when it emerged that several Swedish municipalities still allows children aged 15 to continue living with it they are married, if they say they want it.

Immigration Service will now develop and clarify a standard for the handling of children. More training and support should also be deployed to its own staff as well as information to the children themselves, said Borin. She says that the work thus also become better in contacts around these children with social services, the police, the county administrative boards and municipalities.

to the 132 children now live in 80 Swedish municipalities also hampers efforts to achieve uniformity.

– It is difficult for local authorities to make an overall assessment. We have a better opportunity to see a pattern in the past, says Borin.

man norm

Nearly half of the 132 child cases have dealt with the adult spouses, who more often the word. The risk is that the investigation is based on man as the norm, despite all seeking the right to individual processing.

Borin says that the danger identified already when it comes to adult women – a danger which increases when it involves children.

– When the risk is even greater that we do not see, we only go on what a person says.
