Just a third of employees in the police, emergency and ambulance services in Sweden believe in the organization’s ability to respond to a terrorist attack similar to the one in Brussels. Reveals a thesis at Umeå University, writes Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet.
– The results do not show that the actual preparedness must be bad, but that the professions which have the task to respond to a disaster scenario experience they lack both the necessary knowledge and resources to deal with the consequences for a possible attack, says researcher Annelie Holgersson told the newspaper.
the policemen stood out in the survey Annelie Holgersson transferred Statistics do. Only 27 per cent of them felt that they had a good knowledge of how they initially would respond to a terrorist attack, while just over 35 percent of the entire public safety group said the same.
