Fell into the ravine – must be winched up – Sveriges Radio

Alpine rescuer and the police helicopter is on its way to rescue the man.

– There is a man in the 25-year-old who has slipped down the ravine, says Patrik Linder is the duty officer at the police in Norrbotten.

It was the morning of the day that a man fell into a ravine in Tarrekaise in Norrbotten mountains. The accident must have occurred near a mountain station.

According to the officer at Norrbotten police, Tomas Schäufele, the man is injured and has to be helped out of the gorge, but rescue may take time.

The man is supposed to lie to the police about lying about 50 meters down into the canyon. Police say the man was awake and contactable during the day. It has now been over five hours since the accident occurred, and the rescue work is still underway.

At halvsex-time came a rescue helicopter from Bodo in Norway at the location. The helicopter will winch up the man from the ravine.

There were companions to the man who alerted about the accident.
