Unions criticize Government Offices – Sveriges Radio

Union ST also think the Government Offices driving prices of staffing services for the lot in an ongoing procurement.

– As it has settled at a low level and does not require a collective agreement, we become very thoughtful on whether the Government Offices procurements should look like this, says Britta Leijon, who is President of the Syndicate ST.

– here we have a government that is trying to fight for collective bargaining and orderliness in the labor market and then goes its own management out with this type of very problematic procurement.

Some parts of the Government Offices is an “essential” need for staffing personnel to the business work. It tells the secretariat in a document sent to agency workers.

There are staff in economics, law and administration required of departments. Last Tuesday, the staffing companies that want to be involved in a new contract to have sent in their offers.

Union ST supported of the government in his criticism of the procurement.

– I have great understanding for the union’s criticism and since the government took office, we are working to make it possible to set precisely the kind of social standards, labor standards, says Annelie Roswall-Ljunggren who is State Secretary at the finance Ministry.

the requirement of a collective agreement is not set in all contracts today is mainly due to the legislation is unclear. There is a risk that the contract be appealed if the claim is entered. The government therefore hopes to get through an amendment to make the law clearer from next year.

But the union criticized the procurement of staffing services at the Cabinet Office does not stop at the requirement for collective agreements.

ST’s Chairman Britta Leijon also think it is strange that the security checks on persons who are hired by the Government Offices will be managed by staffing companies.

– What skills will these companies have to manage to do this in a sufficiently safe manner. We are afraid that you acquire big problem with this contract, says Leijon.
