Domestic Internal border controls in Sweden is extended by 30 days and will probably remain during the spring. This was announced by Minister for Migration and Morgan Johansson (S) at an extraordinary group of ministers.
– It is almost ten times the number that arrived from Turkey to Greece in January compared with January last year. And we are in a situation where our asylum places are full, Johansson said after the meeting.
The number of refugees coming to Sweden are now significantly lower than in the fall. But about one million refugees expected to come from Turkey to Europe this year. Without border controls, the situation in Sweden could become unmanageable, according to Johansson.

During the meeting, at a hotel at Arlanda airport north of Stockholm, the ministers also discussed joint actions to bring all Afghan refugees without grounds for asylum to return home. In part, however, no result is reached.
