Axfood recalls 7.5 tons of rice – Aftonbladet

Axfood recalls 7.5 tonnes of rice of own brand Garant.

This is because it may contain tiny metal chips in the packages, according to a press release.

– It looks like aluminum, says a customer who discovered the chips.

the brand Garant sold including in Axfood’s store chains: Willys, Tempo and Hemköp. The rice on Friday recalled were sold in stores across the country. Overall, it is a party at 7 500 kg rice because there may be traces of metal filings in the packages.

– We look very seriously at this and really regret the incident, said Claes Salomonsson, press manager at Axfood.

“Small metal splinters”

Aftonbladet has been in contact with a customer who discovered the metal chips in the rice.

– we would wash the rice, and then we discovered it. It is as small metal splinters in what looks like aluminum, says the man who lives in the Stockholm area.

On Saturday, he submitted a complaint to Axfood and on Monday he received replies from the company deploring the chips found the rice.

– they answered as quickly as they could and asked me to submit the package, says the customer.

“Throw the rice”

– We think it is better to withdraw too much than too little, he says.

The current rice is packaged in a factory in Germany.
