The government wanted to abolish the the far frontier in health insurance starting this summer. But it is unclear when such a proposal can be submitted.

– I find it hard to see that we are in the position we now will have time to July 1 in any case. I can not say boo or carrier right now, says Minister for Social Annika Strandhäll (S).

To abolish the far tidgränsen in health insurance was an election promise. The red-green government announced in its budget that it would be removed on 1 July. The Swedish Parliament voted, however, reduce the bill.

– We also have an announcement in Parliament to take into account that in December, where the Alliance parties together with the Sweden Democrats stated that it wants to see that the time limits remain, says Strandhäll.

The Ministry of Health has a bill in the form of a ministerial memorandum, which according to Minister for Social Security, “in principle” is finished. It would have gone out for consultation in December, but now it is unclear how the government should act.

– We are in discussions within the government how to handle it simply says Strandhäll.

According to her, the Government has no plans to stop a proposal for the sunset clause in vårändringsbudgeten as the Alliance promised to pass the so-called December agreement.

– We have not reflected on the current situation in any case.

Strandhäll also say that such a change in health insurance requires a special draft act.

– There are not on the table right now, we would put this in the amending budget, she says.

Strandhäll states that the government will need to continue “dialog with our alliance colleagues on how we should take this matter further.”

The Minister also refers to the social investigation will shortly be propose, and she is quite convinced that the parties which have touched the sunset clause.

– I do not think we should sit and tjabbla in parliament on measures that we do not have the power that was supposed to be the would have from the beginning. The sunset clause is one such measure and there are evaluations that clearly shows that, says Strandhäll.

– The question remains very keen for us. Not least because I see that right now as fully secured between 1000 and 1300 people each month.
