A toppolitikerpar in Österåker borrowed money and had substantial discount of a Count Family for their school. At the same time the count permission to expand its controversial marina beach protected green area.
SVT’s Mission Review (UG) has investigated the events surrounding Count Douglas family and the moderate politicians couple Ingela Gardner Sundström, former mayor, and her husband Jan Olov Sundström, former chairman of the municipal building.
The couple owns an independent school in the municipality, located just north of Stockholm, and had to borrow money from Count the family to run the school. The lease also the land of the family where the school is built, but only pay ten percent of the lease cost.
Meanwhile, the Building Committee has given the green light for the Count to repeatedly expand its småbåtsmarina in the municipality, the beach protected area detail planned as green space. According to UG, it has both blasted rock and cut trees for buildings and a building permit has been proven to be incorrect. No one has reported a conflict of interest in the decisions.
Ingela Gardner Sundström do not believe that she and her husband were in a position of dependence to Count the family.
– I have never experienced it that way, actually. It may sound really weird. But this is a whole business relationship, she says to the program.
