Since year-end requires a special “license” to work with a chainsaw.
The goal is to reduce accidents in forestry. But the new rules have messed up for Rescue Services, where chainsaws are often an important part of the equipment, reports local newspaper in Östersund.
– This a bureaucratic bungle. Chainsaws are an important part of our equipment, but now I have picked them from the vehicles, says Jörgen Nyqvist, incident commander at the fire station in Krokom.
Nyqvist says that rescue personnel on call-outs often saw through ceilings and walls to access to the fire.
Now wait several stations on the possibility of allowing employees to go a new course in the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency’s auspices. But until then, the ban on use (if not to respond to acute danger to life).
– Is it the case that it is used without a license so punishable us with a penalty, says Jörgen Eriksson at the emergency services in Jämtland County, told the newspaper.
