Police warn of alleged deaf collector – Swedish Radio

Police and the Deaf National Association warns itinerant who pretends to be deaf. They collect money that they claim will help the group.

There are reports that these scam fundraising is taking place in Växjö, Hässleholm, Örebro and Falkenberg.

Recently, arrested two people in Halland County suspects for bedräglia behavior, the state news agency TT.

Common to scam collections is that they are asking for money on the spot. NGO Fundraising (SFC) recommend anyone who wants to donate money to check whether the collection has a 90-account.

– If you have a 90-account it is an organization that you basically can rely on says SFC Secretary General Maria Ros Jernberg.
