A one-year boy was found lifeless in the Ume River after having been missing for several hours. His life could not be saved.
All available police, rescue services, a helicopter and a large number of individuals searched for the boy who disappeared outside Umeå at half past four o’clock on Friday afternoon. The boy was found in the water not far from the family’s house about two hours after the sökinsatsen started.
He was taken to the University Hospital of Umeå. But shortly after 22 o’clock declared the boy dead, police said.
