Sweden Democrats, the largest party in the YouGov survey – Aftonbladet

The Sweden Democrats is the largest party in a survey conducted by YouGov on behalf of the newspaper Metro.

With 25.2 percent pass both the Social Democrats and the Conservatives.

– It’s not surprising, but at the same time it is far from an election and a lot is certain grievances that are not in a general election, says political scientist Karl Loxbo Aftonbladet.

The YouGov poll, Sweden Democrats 25.2 percent. With it becomes the study biggest party when the Social Democrats end up at 23.4 percent and the Conservatives at 21 percent.

Andreas Johansson Heino, political scientists and tied to the Liberal Timbro, according to YouGov surveys are difficult to analyze.

– What tends to be clear is that the SD tend to have higher numbers than in other measurements, it is the pattern we can see. It says in itself if they have more right or wrong, but it is different in YouGov, says Johansson Heinö Aftonbladet.

The study is the first to place an SD as the largest party. But, according to political scientist Karl Loxbo, associate professor at Linnaeus University and research on immigration-critical parties, the figures are not surprising.

– The SD will be one of the major parties is quite obvious. And I think that in this measurement is probably involves a lot of discontent that would not stand up to a general election, says Karl Loxbo.

“Public opinion critical”

The question of refugees and immigration has become increasingly important for Swedish voters, as several studies have shown. As recently as a few days ago showed Sweden think the issue is considered the most important, along with the issue of jobs and employment.

– As long as you made this type of measurements as public opinion has always moved towards that it wants a stricter stance, that it is critical to an increase in refugees, says Karl Loxbo.

He believes that Sweden should be designated as unique as they left the refugee issue to SD while surveys show that public opinion not refugees liberal.

– When it is not in the least surprising that the SD sailing up and become big. The interesting thing here is not really the SD. They have come here because of the other party’s actions and not on its own policies. They simply do not have so much to offer. But the Social Democrats, who have historically not been so liberal in this matter acting like this is interesting. It is political suicide, says Karl Loxbo.

“Crime important factor”

The political science professor Sören Holmberg Nor is he surprised.

– This is not like that giant surprising. We have seen this tendency long that SD is about to increase. And the reason is very simple, says Sören Holmberg to Metro.

Although he suggests that refugee and immigration issue has emerged as the most important issue right now. He also believes that the recent discussions around a series of criminal cases have been important for the SD.

– It turns out that crime is a major factor that justifies the support for SD, he tells Metro.

Do lower numbers

If you look at other polls ports SD lower than in the YouGov survey. For example, noted the party for 19.8 per cent support in the YouGov survey in April while a month later “only” got 14.4 in SCB’s extensive political party preference. In both surveys asked respondents which party they would vote for if the election were at the time of the interview. SCB’s survey also shows that 10.4 percent sympathize with SD, ie less than that stated they would vote for the party.

Swedish Radio lets each month Novus Opinion make a sammanvägnings of results from Demoskop, Novus, Sifo, Bucket and Ipsos polls.

In the past shown public opinion for the month of June. Which harbors SD of 16.4 percent, while the S and M will have 26.7 and 25.4 percent support.
