Knife attack in south customs in Norrköping on Monday in which three people were injured was apparently an act of madness. The picture emerging from the police press conference on Tuesday.
– There is no connection between the victims and the perpetrator. As regards the subject image so it appears at present that this is an act performed by an offender with signs of mental illness, says Anders Selevik as investigators in the case.
Whether the offender has sought treatment is something that police spokesman Erik Thulin not have any indication.
The social services in Norrköping has had contact with the man before yesterday deed. Social Director Yvonne Thilander says she because of confidentiality can not comment on the matter, but she agrees that municipal activities can be better.
The incident has touched Norrköping residents strongly and both Monday evening and Tuesday chose the Swedish Church to hold additional open to those who wanted to come by and light a candle or converse.
