An explosion occurred in an industrial area in Gävle on Thursday evening. Heavy black smoke spread in the area but by 1:30 pm it was announced that the fighting was in its final stages
Some form of an explosion took place in a building of Nutrients . Loud bangs were heard and heavy black smoke poured out of the room.
The wind got the smoke to drive from garage building, located on Sätravägen, the residential Stigslund. Accommodation which was asked to close windows, doors and ventilation and to avoid the smoke as it can be toxic. But this danger was over at 01 o’clock over.
The heavy smoke smelled strongly of chemicals, reports P4 Gävleborg reporter on the scene during the evening.
The fire was just before 01-time under control. The fire-fighting hampered by the risk of further explosions. In an adjoining building to the garage wing, there should be a gas stocks. But later in the night it was announced that the extinction was in the final stages.
Because of the rescue operation was stopped train pass Gävle. The affected trains on the route Sundsvall-Stockholm, Gävle and Borlänge and Gävle-Ljusdal. But traffic started just before one o’clock.
There is no indication that someone must have been damaged by the explosion and subsequent fire.
At the request of the emergency services cordoned an area of 300 meters around the building of. Among other evacuated a gymnasium near where several young people trained.
The alarm about the fire came to the rescue at 20:15 o’clock. Firefighters from three stations were sent to the scene.
