Three dead in train crash north of Örnsköldsvik – Daily

– We can confirm that there is a woman who lived in an asylum accommodation, says Johanna Måhlén Immigration Service’s press service.

An employee of asylum accommodation tells TT that the woman, who recently arrived, and her two small children went out this morning.

Guarded railway crossing

It was at 10:19 on Saturday morning as police received the alarm about a person being hit by a freight train. The accident occurred at a guarded railroad crossing in Trehörningsjö, about five mil north of Örnsköldsvik. According to the preliminary data, the person also had a stroller.

Later message police that three people died after being struck by a train. How the accident happened is unclear, but there is currently no suspicion of a crime.

The information that children are affected are not commented.

– We are in the process investigate fully what is involved, we need to identify them first before you can walk out with nothing, says Mats Rasmusson, duty officer at the police in Västernorrland.

Crisis group inducted

It should be witnesses to the incident and Örnsköldsvik Municipality has called his crisis team.

– We have municipal POSOM group that is in place to help take care of the witnesses, says Håkan Wiberg, Head of the readiness of emergency services in Örnsköldsvik.

– We are also obviously care of the train driver.

A community center has opened in the vicinity of the accident site.

– Is it that you need to talk to someone there will be people in place, says POSOM coordinator Mats Gidlund.

Staff from the Swedish Migration Board’s reception center in Kramfors is also on the way.

– We are there if needed help, says Måhlén.
