Envelopes with white powder the Enforcement Service – Sveriges Radio

Enforcement office at Mast Square in the West Harbour in Malmö has been partially evacuated and cordoned off after employees found white powder in a letter.

The letter must first be received in another of the Enforcement premises, Hjalmar Gullberg Way, and then traveled on. The premises have now been cordoned off.

– What we are doing now is trying to identify what it is in this envelope, and see if there is a threat, says Kim Hild, Director, Communications at Skåne police.

The alarm came in to police at 10:30, and right now it’s police officers with special expertise in place to examine the letter and take care of the person who discovered the contents.

– All other staff have evacuated, said police informant Kim Hild.

At least five people were employed at the agency has contacted the white powder and shall be decontaminated along with four police officers. The envelope is still in the cordoned-off and vacated the premises at Mast Square in West Harbour.

Police are currently working to secure the powder and prepared to transport it away.
