17 years in prison for the murder of his wife – the newspaper Aftonbladet

In August and murdered a woman on a farm in Skåne.

She had the SOS Alarm in the handset when she was shot in the neck with a shotgun.

A 68-year-old ex-military, was sentenced today to 17 years in prison for the murder of his wife.

"It is similar to a pure execution," writes the court in its judgment.

It was the 11th of August as the police, ambulance and emergency services were called to a residence outside the Ystad. 18.17 alerted a woman SOS Alarm. A minute later suspended the call – in of a shot.

It was then that the woman was shot dead.

When the help came to the couple’s farm found a 76-year-old woman’s death and the now 68-year-old man badly injured. He had shot himself.

– I have shot my wife, I have shot my wife, ” the man said to one of the firemen who first came to the site.

today came the judgment against the man. He is sentenced to 17 years in prison. The man himself during the trial neither denied or admitted the murder. He has said that he has memory lapses from the day when the murder occurred.

But the district court mean that it can be excluded that it is someone other than the ex-military who shot his wife. He has also voiced direct threats against his wife during the afternoon.

It has been found that the man did not suffer from a mental disorder and therefore he should be sentenced to jail, according to the district court’s ruling.

"It is similar to a pure execution," writes the court in its judgment.

the Man’s lawyer, Carl-Owe Olsson told Aftonbladet that his client does not remember what happened.

– When it comes to what happened the 11 of August, he has no recollection at all, and with reason he can neither admit or deny wrongdoing.

a Little over an hour after the arrest got the man to leave the blood sample. He had at that time was 2.36 per mille of alcohol in the blood.

What is the last thing he remember?

– It is the day before. They ate food, hung out and went to bed, and then he has no recollection. It is regrettable but so it is, ” says Carl-Owe Olsson.
