A man working in the LKAB:s mine got stuck tonight in a large crusher and was taken by ambulance to Kiruna hospital.
the Man was conscious but was bleeding profusely from the head, said Björn Karlström at the Emergency services to P4 Norrbotten. The alarm about the accident came shortly after the half ten in the evening and LKAB’s own emergency rescue service was first on the scene and got the man.
the Accident took place during a rensningsarbete in the sealed-off rock crusher, ” says LKAB’s presstalesperson Fredrik Björkenwall. The man had climbed down into the crusher to manually remove the scrap that was stuck and it was then that he got stuck.
The 55-year-old kirunabon cared for now at Kiruna hospital, but has no life-threatening or serious damage.
the Accident happened down in LKAB’s mine, about 1200 metres below ground level. The company is now commencing an internal investigation on how the accident could happen.
